Trip to Bremerhaven
We took a 5-day trip to Bremerhaven (northern Germany, on the coast). Viviana told me what we were going to see and do, and to be honest, I wasn't really excited about going. We spent two of the days changing trains for nine hours each way. When we finally arrived, I was exhausted and overwhelmed, because to top it all off, they had a terrible room system. In the end, I shared a room with Esther (my Erasmus roommate) and a friend of Viviana's named Amelie. The rest of the days we spent visiting museums or attending conferences about immigration and climate change. To be honest, I understood almost nothing and was very bored. I don't understand the point of traveling so far just to visit museums and walk around in mud. We did two excursions: one looking for worms in the mud and the other a two-hour hike in a nature park (very ugly, in my opinion). So, I didn't enjoy the activities of the trip at all. But it wasn't all bad; the fun part of the trip was the time I spent with the German girls. In the evenings, I'd meet up with them to chat and have snacks. They were incredibly sweet to me, translating for me and inviting me to join them. We also played Impostor in English so I could play too, which was a very kind gesture that I really appreciated. They also showed me their favorite sweets; they love frozen fruits with chocolate, specifically blackberries and mango. Now, because of their butts, I love those chocolate-covered fruits too. This trip allowed me to socialize more with them and get to know them much better. On the way back, we all took the train and I said goodbye. Thanks to them, I was able to enjoy myself and find the positive side of the trip!
